Occupational Therapist for the Primary Care Department in Västerås

Exciting things are happening in Västerås! We hope you want to be part of continuing to develop our new primary care department together with us as part of the transition to Close Care. Seize the opportunity to help shape a new workplace!

Job Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist with us, you will meet patients with various medical needs together with competent colleagues. The work consists of standard occupational therapy interventions such as ADL assessments, training, assistive device management, and planning for discharge. Supervision of students may be included in the work. Educational initiatives and professional development for other staff groups occur.

We in Primary Care East collaborate within the clinic. In addition to colleagues at NÄVA, you will also have colleagues in the palliative unit in Västerås and in the rehabilitation unit in Sala. If necessary, for example, due to absence or during vacation periods, the work may also be assigned to other operations within the clinic.

About the Workplace

The Primary Care Department Västerås, NÄVA, is part of Primary Care East. With us, primarily multimorbid patients in need of interventions from a multimodal team are cared for. Patients are referred from other hospitals, from health centers, as well as direct admissions via the Primary Care Team or mobile family doctor team.

We are a department under construction, which means you are expected to contribute to the development of the operations. We work with person-centered care and are in constant development to make the care time as safe and efficient as possible.

For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, which is why we offer you:

  • tailored introduction program to help you feel secure in your professional role
  • opportunity for professional development through internal training
  • free access to our fully equipped gym
  • wellness allowance of 3000 SEK/year

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist, preferably with experience in the profession. If you have previous experience working in similar regional operations, it is an advantage. As you will need to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, relatives, and colleagues, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required.

At the Primary Care Department, we work in teams and have close collaboration with municipalities and healthcare partners within the region. This means we have high demands for good collaboration skills, the ability to see the whole picture, and the ability to communicate clearly. Our patients are multimorbid elderly individuals where you are expected to be accommodating and empathetic in your approach. Since we are a department under construction and development, we see that you are a person who thrives in and wants to be involved in development and change work.

The work can change quickly in various ways, so you need to be flexible and have the ability to maintain your calm and focus in stressful situations. Furthermore, you are expected to have a good ability to structure your work independently and take responsibility for your tasks. A driving license (B) is required for the position.
